All objects at Hippo Props are created by Jerry Dowse at his workshop in Tweed Heads, Australia.

Jerry is an Industrial Designer who had his start in furniture; specialising in engineering unique, bespoke designs for large scale manufacturing. With a soft spot for all things Sci-Fi, he began creating life size props; bringing other-worldy items to life with meticulous craft, clever engineering and efficiency. What started as a side hustle turned into a full time job; thanks to the support of  Gaming and Sci-fi loving communities world-wide. 

Why Sci-Fi props? 
The Sci-Fi genre has limitless creative potential. Universes spawned from originality and imagination are free from the constraints of reality and conventional aesthetics. The rules are ever-changing; pushing the boundaries of human creativity, and expanding the horizons of what technology and aesthetics can achieve. Props are the perfect materialisation of this. They provide clues and insights about these fictional worlds and cultures... Plus, they're fun and nostalgiac – so why not?
